|| Happy Chinese New Year - The Year of the Dog! ||

Since the Chinese new year is just round the corner, I decided that Ashley and Silky shld get new clothes! Therefore, I bought each of them a set of clothes..

At first, I got this pants jumper and polk dot ear cover for Ashley, but it ended up that the jumper was too big and the ear cover was too small..So, I had to go back and get them changed..

-Ashley's Demimn Jumper-

Therefore, I got this instead. But I actually prefer the pants because since Ashley looks like a male..it would look good on her! I reckon the skirt will look funny on her..haha

-Her New Ear Cover-

Don't blame me for my bad choice of style for her ear cover, because there is really limited choice! I also wish they had better looking ones...

-Silky's elegant golden dress-

By the way, you guys must be wondering who the hell is silky. Anyway, she was an abandoned dog, and we found her. When we brought her for grooming, we were told that, she's a Shih Tzu/ Maltese Cross.

And this is Silky!

-Shih Tzu/ Maltese Cross-----------> Silky!-

Looks like I'm fated to get cross breed dogs, cause Ashley is also a cross breed: American/ English Cocker Spaniel cross. Well anyway, initially when we found Silky, she was very timid and VERY skinny! She was in a bad condition. Her fur was badly matted, her skin was problematic due to the matted fur and we could practically feel her spine and her ribs! I reckon if she wasnt found sooner, she would be dead.

Just after grooming:

Look..you can even see her spine!!

Btw, thats not me in the photo...(if you were wondering)

-Silky after grooming, but still very skinny-

After being with us for a few weeks:

-A few weeks after proper care and ample love- -Ashley and Silky-

I guess you must agree with me that she looks much better right? Look at how skinny she was before! Those people who abandoned her should never be forgiven~

Back to the New Year clothes, Ashley looks quite silly in it..but very cute though! And Silky, as usual, looks good in clothing!

Isnt she cute?! The next one is even cuter!

WISHING ALL OF YOU A HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

|| My cHina Trip ||

PS: This post might take a longer time to load due to the large no. of photos being uploaded.

Our long awaited trip to China!! Thats our flight!! SQ 816~

Celestine reading her Big Book..haha

Our VW Beetle!

On the first day of my trip, we all arrrived in the Pu Tong International Airport in the wee hours of the day.

That is the whole group of us, together with the Shanghainese tour guide.

The flight to Shanghai was a horrible one. It was not because of the services of SIA but because I wasnt prepared to be awake all night! Taking night flights are just not my thing. Therefore, I had super dark eye rings when I reached Shanghai. Though we landed in Shanghai, but our first destination was to hangzhou - Wu Zhen. We were introduced to some historical stuff and there after, it was a long coach ride to Suzhou. Since these two provinces are considered countryside, the hospitality were not the least up to my expectations. The weather there was horrible!! Because its the winter season, we were like frozen chickens walking around! Even with 6 layers of clothes on me, I still pretty much feel frozen.
Here are some photos in Hangzhou:

Streets of Wu Zhen

Still at Wu Zhen, this is where they make 'smelly tou fu'! But trust me, its not one bit smelly!

Their wine factory

Soon after, we were headed to ShangHai!! YippPee..! Everybody was pretty excited about Shanghai. Indeed, Shanghai is very unlike the other parts of China. It is modernised and every resident there is pretty much fashionable. Unfortunately, I didnt really enjoy my 2 days there. Maybe its because of the culture, maybe it was the weather. Or, it was a combination of both. Well, I shall not elaborate much.. However, I must say that of the 4 states that I had been to, Shanghai had the best places to shop! And of course the hotel was the best of all! It was too bad for us that our tour guide didnt bring us to places that we could admire the night view of Shanghai. I guess that should be the highlight of our Shanghai trip..shlouldnt it? It was such a pity! Anyway, after 2 days, we were off to Beijing. Since all of us did not feel too good about the trip since day 1, we were quite pessimestic about the rest of the trip. The domestic flight to Beijing certainly did not make us change our minds. In fact, it made me feel worse. The landing of the flight made me so giddy! It was terrible! Moreover, we had to wait damn long for the luggages to come.

Here are some photos taken in Shanghai:

They have a Raffles City in Shanghai too! Its managed my CapitaLand. In this shopping centre, it certainly feels like home~ There is our local bread shop, Breadtalk. Beard Papa, Esprit, and so on.

The night view outside Raffles City..

After taking some photos outside, we hurried in to Raffles City to get some warmth. I look like Rudoff the red nose reindeer..

Though I seem to be having fun taking these photos, but actually, its not that enjoyable~ Because it was freaking cold out there..Brrrr~

That is Miss Celestine with her precious pearls.

After the 2 days in Shanghai, we were headed off to Beijing. We were quite skeptical about going on to Beijing because of the bad experience we had during the first 4 days of our trip. Fortunately, the tour guide that was arranged for us in Beijing was a damn good one. He was not only responsible, but VERY committed. In the coach, he would definitely interest us with China's rich history, and would tell any (historical)story that we requested him to. The next 4 days were very fun and fulfilling!! We went to one of the 7 wonders of the world - The Great Wall of China. That had me panting all the way!! But it was definitely worth it~

After the magnificent tour in The Forbbiden City, we were headed towards the Dowager Ci Xi's Summer Palace..

This is supposedly her beautiful lake, however, it has frozen to become a huge ice-skating rink.

Next, we were headed to The Great Wall of China!!

On our way down..

Who said that China wasnt worth visiting? It was definitely a fun trip! I would wana go there again~ I miss China!
